That is one load of carving! Imagine all the patience it took to do that!
I have never seen anything like it. The stems going to the hearts with the crosswork inbetween is such a beautiful play on peacock feathers. The center medallion. This one knocked me out.
I don’t suppose anyone knows whose fortunate locks this work of art adorned? Maybe no one ever wore it.
Can you imagine the horror of dropping it while attempting to tuck it in?!
Amazing, gorgeous, my poor little tort combs are now hiding their heads in shame and humility. I love them, anyway!
Peggy, you are right. I couldn’t imagine dropping this. I also couldn’t imagine being a heart surgeon not succeeding in an operation, or a stock broker losing millions of someone else’s money. Not for me.
