The only mark on it is Sterling, but this beautiful hair pin depicts two Gingko leaves with a bug. It’s made with cloisonne enamel. The colors are gorgeous. It seems very Japonisme to me, so I don’t know if the maker was French or Japanese, but it sold for $275 on September 16. Congratulations to the winner.
I had to say that I have a pin like this, only mine is more kingfisher blue and an almost cobalt blue, and a lovely shade of bright green for the beetle. I have loved this since I first saw it on this blog and when I saw another I had to have it! When you see it in person you truly realize just what a gem it is! Love the blog Barbaranne!
